Maktub - Arabic for “It Is Written”. I first became familiar with this word over a decade ago, the first time I read the book “The Alchemist”. It was a time in my life where I really didn't know what direction I was going on, or what my “purpose” in life may look like. While reading the book that “purpose” became so clear in my head, and it had nothing to do with “career” or the learned idea of what success looks like, but instead all I kept hearing in my head while reading the tale was “LOVE” “LOVE” “LOVE” over and over again. One could say love was everyone’s destiny, with self, with others, with whatever higher power we believe in. Anyways, it is a word that has stayed with me since I learned it.
